Nominee's personal declared assets total 232.76 million won
Yong Hye-in, nominee for minister of gender equality and family, has declared 475.29 million won ($347,000) in assets held under her own name and those of her spouse, eldest son and parents, including deposits and real estate.
According to the confirmation hearing request submitted to the National Assembly on Thursday, Yong's personal declared assets totaled 232.76 million won.
That figure reflects a 600 million won jeonse lease deposit on an apartment in Yangpyeong-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, held in her name, along with deposits of 52.66 million won, political funds of 100,000 won, a private bond of 30 million won and financial liabilities of 450 million won.
Her spouse declared a total of 59.54 million won, comprising a 2023 XM3 hybrid vehicle valued at 23.36 million won, deposits of 16.18 million won and a private bond of 20 million won.
Her eldest son declared deposits of 8.91 million won.
Her father's net declared assets came to a liability of 10.2 million won, reflecting a jointly owned apartment in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, valued at 153.5 million won, a 2010 YF Sonata vehicle worth 2.11 million won, deposits of 36.91 million won and debts of 202.72 million won.
Her mother declared total assets of 184.27 million won, including the Ansan apartment valued at 153.5 million won, a 2021 Carnival vehicle worth 22.74 million won and deposits of 8.03 million won.
Yong's spouse, who held a senior party post at the Basic Income Party, received a total of 123.66 million won in salary from the party over five years — 9.65 million won in 2022, 14.79 million won in 2023, 25.78 million won in 2024, 33.44 million won in 2025 and 39 million won in 2026.
