Students from South Korea and Japan take part in a joint illustration and comics exchange program. [Keimyung College]

The webtoon department of Keimyung College of Culture and Arts ran a joint South Korea-Japan student creative workshop and global major training program in Osaka, Japan, from Aug. 12 to 13, strengthening students' global content production and international collaboration skills.

The program was held at OCA Osaka College of Design and Technology, part of the Jikei vocational education group in Japan. A total of 13 participants attended, including 10 second-year webtoon students and accompanying faculty and staff.

Participants presented work completed during the training project, exchanged feedback with their Japanese counterparts, and shared creative approaches and expressive techniques, giving both sides a hands-on opportunity for professional exchange.

Ko Byeong-ho, head of the webtoon department, said the school would continue expanding joint creative projects with leading overseas institutions "to do our best to nurture K-webtoon professionals who can make their mark on the global stage."
