Garden Festa, French Culture Festival and Anyangcheon Light Festival all open the day before; residents can enjoy free performances, community awards and club arts showcase — Anyangcheon Light Festival runs Sept. 18–30 at the ecological flower garden
Guro-gu will hold the 2026 Guro G Festival (Asia Culture Festival) along the Anyangcheon on Sept. 19 and 20.
Now in its 23rd year, the festival will be run as a safe, eco-friendly event under the banner of "9-NO Guro" — a pledge to eliminate plastic waste, carbon emissions, food waste and accidents.
The day before the festival opens, on Sept. 18, a series of affiliated events will kick off in succession. A Garden Festa opening ceremony is scheduled for 5 p.m., followed by a French Culture Festival opening ceremony at 7 p.m. and the Anyangcheon Light Festival lighting ceremony at 8:30 p.m.
On the first day of the festival, Sept. 19, community participation events will include the 36th Guro-gu Citizens' Award ceremony, a community self-governance program showcase and the Guro-gu 4th Industrial Creative Convergence Competition. The official opening ceremony will be held on the main Anyangcheon stage from 6:30 p.m., followed by celebratory performances by singers Lee Jae-hoon and Kim Hyun-jung.
On Sept. 20, a Guro Carbon-Zero Walking Event will open the day at 7:30 a.m., followed at 2 p.m. by the Guro Club Arts Festival, featuring local clubs performing in fields ranging from instrumental music to dance. From 7 p.m., the TOP 10 Gayo Show (JTV) will take the stage with performers Park Seo-jin, Jin-sung, Ahn Sung-hoon and My Jin. A fireworks display over the Anyangcheon waterfront will close out the festival after the show.
Food and entertainment options will be plentiful throughout the festival. An eco-friendly food market will operate at Anyangcheon Soccer Field A from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day, while a food truck zone in the water play area will offer Asian cuisine. Additional cultural programs include a flea market, a photo zone at the ecological flower garden, a garden talk show and garden busking, pop-up book rentals, and a special performance by a French troupe marking the 21st anniversary of Guro-gu's sister-city relationship with Issy-les-Moulineaux, France.
Comfort and rest areas have also been set up so visitors can enjoy the festival at a relaxed pace. A cooling zone with mist sprayers will be installed in the Guro Picnic Garden to beat the heat, a family rest zone with shade canopies and bean bag chairs will be available at the inline skating rink, and a camping rest zone will operate at the ecological flower garden.
The festival is open to all without prior registration, and performances and viewing programs are free. However, the "Ssing Ssing Cart 959" shuttle service and some hands-on programs will require a fee.

The Light Festival runs for 13 days from Sept. 18 through Sept. 30 at the Anyangcheon ecological flower garden, treating visitors to a spectacular nighttime landscape through elaborate lighting displays.
