Gmarket said it will run a chuseok promotion called "2026 Hangawi Big Sale" from Monday through Sept. 22.

The event starts about 10 days earlier than last year's, a move the company said is intended to cushion shoppers against holiday grocery price pressures stemming from a prolonged heat wave and heavy rains that swept through South Gyeongsang Province.

Gmarket focused particularly on securing the lowest-priced products. The number of special-deal items is nearly triple that of the previous holiday sale, the "Seol Big Sale," with 2,000 discounted products spanning kitchenware, electronics and home appliances, food, and gift sets.

During the sale period, Gmarket will offer three exclusive discount coupons worth up to 200,000 won ($145) each, with unlimited use.

The company will also hold 1,000 live broadcasts and short-form deal segments through its in-house streaming channel G Live, offering real-time customer interaction events and additional discounts exclusive to live broadcasts.

"We moved the Hangawi Big Sale earlier than before for early-bird holiday shoppers," a Gmarket official said, "and significantly expanded the range of special-deal products to ease the burden of holiday grocery shopping."
