iM Bank has opened branches in Jeonju and Gwangju in quick succession, stepping up its push to build a stronger foothold in the Honam region.

The bank opened its Jeonju branch in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province on Wednesday, followed by the Gwangju branch in the South Jeolla Province-Gwangju integrated special city on Friday.

The Jeonju branch is located in the Wansan-gu residential area, near a cluster of government offices including Jeonju City Hall and the North Jeolla Provincial Government. It will serve as a community financial hub for local residents and small business owners, offering tailored consultations and hands-on service.

The Gwangju branch sits in the heart of the city's historic downtown, covering the May 18 Democracy Square and the Chungjang-ro commercial district. The branch will strengthen financial services and customer consultations to suit the area's high concentration of small business owners and self-employed workers.

To mark the openings, iM Bank launched a special promotional product called "The Coupon Savings & Installment Savings," offering interest rates of up to 3.8 percent per year on deposits and up to 11 percent per year on installment savings.

The bank also plans to contribute 500 million won ($362,000) each to the North Jeolla Credit Guarantee Foundation and the Gwangju Credit Guarantee Foundation next month to expand financial support for small business owners and small and medium-sized enterprises in both regions.

"Opening branches in Jeonju and Gwangju will be an important opportunity to broaden our touchpoints with customers in the Honam region," bank President Kang Jeong-hun said. "iM Bank will grow together with Honam customers through proactive, community-centered banking."
