Lotte Wellfood said Friday it has joined the Lotte Medical Foundation's "Mind-Recharging Snack Box" sponsorship program to support patients and caregivers worn down by prolonged treatment and hospital stays.

The sponsorship targets about 1,000 recipients, including inpatients and caregivers at the Lotte Medical Foundation's Bovas Memorial Hospital and Hanam Bovas Hospital, as well as young patients at the children's rehabilitation center.

In June, Lotte Wellfood donated 232 boxes of popular products, including Custard, Margaret, Lotsun and Crunky Devil. The goods will be delivered in stages through December, timed to coincide with the hospitals' education and emotional support programs.

Alongside this, Lotte Wellfood visited the children's rehabilitation center at Hanam Bovas Hospital on Thursday to run its "Dr. Xylitol Bus" mobile dental care campaign for 27 young patients. The campaign has been held monthly since 2013, funded in part by proceeds from sales of Lotte Xylitol gum.

"We will continue to expand our shared-growth activities, using our products and a portion of their proceeds to deliver meaningful help to communities across society," a Lotte Wellfood official said.
