110 employees take part in interactive integrity education through quizzes and laughter
District Mayor Kim Kyung-dae personally sets questions, bridging the gap with staff
Yongsan-gu District Mayor Kim Kyung-dae joined 110 district office employees Wednesday afternoon for the "Supreme Integrity Golden Bell," an interactive anti-corruption quiz event held in the second below-ground-floor conference room of the Yongsan-gu office.
The event was designed to help employees learn about anti-corruption laws and regulations — including the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, the Act on Prevention of Conflicts of Interest, and the Code of Conduct for Civil Servants — in an accessible and engaging way, while naturally internalizing the meaning of integrity in their daily work.
The program opened with an "Integrity Essentials — One-Shot Lecture" segment, followed by a smartphone-based group quiz open to all participants and a final Golden Bell round. Participants solved problems together and cheered each other on, learning about integrity through a hands-on format that broke from the conventional lecture-style approach.
A highlight came in the latter half of the competition, when District Mayor Kim made a surprise appearance in jeans, drawing an enthusiastic response from the crowd. The jeans carried the slogan "Integrity starts right now," which Kim and the staff chanted together, raising the energy in the room.
Kim drew laughter from employees when he remarked that it was his first time wearing jeans in eight months. He then personally set questions for the finalists and confirmed the answers alongside them, engaging naturally with the staff throughout.
At the awards ceremony that followed, Kim presented prizes to six winners — one grand prize, two excellence prizes and three encouragement prizes. The event closed not as a competition but as a shared experience, with participants solving problems together, reviewing anti-corruption legislation and reflecting on the meaning of integrity.
"Integrity does not begin with grand slogans — it starts with each of us practicing it right now, in our own roles," Kim said. "We will continue to develop a variety of programs, like this Integrity Golden Bell, that allow employees to participate directly, connect with the message and naturally embrace integrity as part of their work."
