Former singer Ko Young-wook has publicly commented on Park Wi, who has been at the center of controversy following the release of CCTV footage of a recent fall accident.

On Thursday, Ko shared a news article about Park Wi's high speaking-fee controversy on his X (formerly Twitter) account, writing, "Maybe I'll tour prisons across the country and give some lectures myself."

Ko recalled that when he was previously held at a detention center, TV producer Park Jun-su of "Eumakui Shin" ("God of Music") and Lee Sang-min had visited him together. "I had to leave the show midway through filming," Ko wrote, adding that Park had told him, "Hyung, don't lose your sense of humor while you're in there."

He added that he had tried to lighten the mood by joking, "Maybe I'll write a book — title it 'From Rula to Electronic Anklet'" — and that even the corrections officer nearby burst out laughing.

Park Wi had come under fire after releasing CCTV footage of his KTX fall accident on his YouTube channel on Friday, and criticism spread further after his speaking fees became public.

Ko has been posting a series of comments on X targeting social issues and celebrities, sharing news links with brief remarks that have repeatedly stirred controversy.

On Tuesday, he appeared to address the attention his posts were drawing, writing, "Stop acting recklessly and making a fuss — everyone just focus on your own daily life."

Ko debuted in 1994 as a member of the group Rula. He was indicted on charges of sexually assaulting or molesting three minors between July 2010 and December 2012, received a confirmed sentence of two years and six months in prison in 2013, and was released after serving his full term in 2015. He was also ordered to have his personal information disclosed for five years and to wear an electronic ankle monitor for three years.
