The Gangnam-gu Council attended the "National Unification Advisory Council (NUAC) Gangnam Chapter 2026 Third-Quarter Regular Meeting" held Wednesday at the Imperial Hall on the third floor of the Eliena Hotel in Gangnam.
The meeting was held under the theme "Reflection and Alternatives for Implementing a Policy of Peaceful Coexistence on the Korean Peninsula." Speaker Lee Jae-jin, Deputy Speaker Kim Hyeon-jeong, Operations Committee Chair Kang Hyeon-seop, Economy and Urban Committee Chair Song Yeong-gwang, Welfare and Culture Committee Chair Oh On-nuri, and lawmakers Bok Jin-gyeong, Lee Dong-ho, Lee Sang-ae, Kim Jin-gyeong, U Jong-hyeok, Park Dae-yong, Kim Yun-hui, Han Seong-sun, Lee Jong-won (District Na), Kim Yeong-min, Kim Ji-ung, Hwang Tae-hyeon, Lee Jong-won (District Ma), Go Eun-jin, Yun Su-hyeok, Bae Geun-hui, Eun Myeong-ju and No Mi-jin all attended.
About 360 people took part, including NUAC Gangnam Chapter President Kang Sin-yong, guests and advisory council members. The agenda proceeded in order: opening remarks by the chapter president and congratulatory speeches by Speaker Lee and other guests; presentation of commendations and citations to outstanding members; conferral of appointment certificates on officers and committee members; a lecture by Gangnam-byeong constituency National Assembly member Ko Dong-jin on the theme "The Meaning of Work"; and discussions among advisory council members and policy recommendations on implementing a peaceful coexistence policy for the Korean Peninsula.
In his congratulatory remarks, Speaker Lee said, "I extend my deepest gratitude to Chapter President Kang Sin-yong and the NUAC advisory council members for their dedicated efforts to foster communication within the community and broaden public support for unification." He added, "The Gangnam-gu Council will continue to spare no administrative support or budget for the activities of the NUAC Gangnam Chapter, so that the living voices of our community are actively reflected in peaceful unification policy."
