Mapo-gu District Mayor Yu Dong-gyun took part in a "Morning Commute Integrity Campaign" held Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. in the first-floor lobby of the Mapo-gu District Office, where he reflected on the meaning of integrity and exchanged thoughts with staff on building a healthy organizational culture.
The campaign was designed to help employees naturally appreciate the meaning and value of integrity — not through rigid rules and formal education, but through participation and open communication.
Yu greeted staff as they arrived for work, personally spinning an integrity roulette wheel and answering related quiz questions. Employees also joined in the quiz, reflecting on the values of integrity expected of public servants.
Staff also wrote their thoughts on integrity, organizational culture and hopes for the district administration on memo slips, which were posted on a dedicated "integrity tree" display.
Yu reviewed the messages employees had written and said the process of freely sharing one another's thoughts would serve as a foundation for building a trusted organization.
"Integrity takes root as an organizational culture only when it is practiced in daily life — through mutual respect and trust — not merely by knowing the laws and regulations," Yu said. "We will work together to ensure that the many voices our staff shared today become a force for a fairer and healthier district administration."
Yu was scheduled to attend an integrity talk concert in the second-floor grand auditorium of the Mapo-gu District Office later Wednesday, where he planned to continue the conversation with staff on integrity and organizational culture.
