A woman who alleged that actor Hong Min-gi, 24, subjected her to dating violence and pressured her into an abortion has regained consciousness after being hospitalized in intensive care following a drug overdose, according to a post on her social media account.

A person identifying himself as the woman's older brother wrote on her account Tuesday that she "was found having taken an excessive amount of medication — including sleeping pills — in the early hours of Sunday, and was transported to the emergency room," citing the distress she had endured and the difficulty of coping with the public fallout as a private individual. The woman is identified only as A.

He added that she had remained unconscious in the intensive care unit until the early hours of Tuesday, but had since recovered to the point where she was conscious and able to communicate. He asked the public to refrain from speculative comments, saying she still needed treatment and rest due to the psychological trauma she had suffered.

He also disputed recent reports that A had gone to Hong's home, caused a disturbance and then given a written statement at a local police substation, calling the account "not true."

A, known as a social media influencer, came forward Wednesday alleging that Hong had verbally and physically abused her during their relationship and had pressured her into an abortion after she told him she was pregnant. She presented medical records as evidence.

In response, Hong's agency, Fable Company, acknowledged the past relationship but flatly denied the allegations of dating violence and coercion to terminate the pregnancy, saying they were "not true."

The agency also said A had engaged in stalking behavior after the breakup — including coming to Hong's home, knocking on the door and causing a disturbance — and announced it would pursue civil and criminal legal action against her on charges of stalking and defamation.

A, for her part, removed the posts in which she had made her allegations and signaled she would also take legal action, leaving the conflicting claims between the two sides to be settled in court.
