The National Nakdong River Biological Resources Center will host an exhibition titled "Future Animals: Life Beyond Mass Extinction" at the themed exhibition hall of its Biological World Center in Sangju, North Gyeongsang Province, for eight months through April 25, 2027, the center announced Wednesday.

The exhibition introduces the mass extinction events that occurred across past geological eras and showcases models of seven imaginary future animals — including the colossal "tyrant goose," a creature that devours everything living in future wetlands — along with recreated habitat displays.

Children's artwork depicting their own imagined future animals will also be on display. On opening day, the first visitors to arrive will receive complimentary souvenirs while supplies last.

Yeo Jin-dong, head of the center's exhibition and education division, said he hoped the exhibition would help visitors understand how climate change affects ecosystems and reflect on humanity's role in building a sustainable future, through stories of creatures adapting to diverse environments.
