Guro-gu is holding a "2027 Key Business Plan Briefing" to finalize execution plans for major projects under the 9th elected term.
The briefing was organized ahead of 2027 — when the 9th elected term gets fully under way — to review implementation plans for campaign pledges, long-standing resident priorities and key pending issues, and to examine strategies for securing funding.
The district will assess major investment and recurring projects in connection with the 2027 budget process, while also reviewing initiatives that could draw on external funding from the central government and the Seoul Metropolitan Government. It also plans to identify new projects that reflect emerging administrative needs, while consolidating overlapping or duplicative programs to improve fiscal efficiency.
On Monday, the first day of the briefings, Guro-gu District Mayor Jang In-hong was joined by the deputy district mayor and relevant bureau and division chiefs to review the 2027 work plans of the Administrative Management Bureau, the Safety and Transportation Bureau, the Smart Environment Bureau, and three affiliated bodies — the Guro-gu Scholarship Foundation, the Guro Cultural Center and the Guro Culture Foundation.
Each department and agency reported its plans for next year, focusing on 9th-term campaign projects, new and pending initiatives, and ongoing programs. Jang reviewed the direction and schedules of key projects, along with budget and funding strategies.
The briefings continue through Friday. On Wednesday, the Welfare Support Bureau and the Guro Hope Welfare Foundation present their plans; on Thursday, the Planning and Economy Bureau and the Guro-gu Facilities Management Corporation follow; and on Friday, the Audit Office, the Public Relations Office, the Housing Policy Bureau, the Construction Policy Bureau and the district health center wrap up the series.
"2027 is a pivotal year for putting the 9th term's major projects into full action," District Mayor Jang said. "We will carefully examine execution plans and funding strategies to ensure that our pledges and key projects move beyond the planning stage and translate into tangible change that residents can feel."
