A man who roamed a park in Sejong and assaulted two strangers in quick succession has been referred to prosecutors.

According to JTBC's crime affairs program "Sageon Banjang," a man identified as A was watching his children play at a park in Sejong on Aug. 2 when another man, B, suddenly attacked him from behind.

B approached A without warning and applied a rear choke hold — wrapping his arm around A's neck from behind — while threatening, "Move and you die."

The force of the choke caused A to black out, leaving him unable to recall what happened immediately afterward.

Closed-circuit television footage later reviewed showed B fleeing the scene as A's children rushed toward their father.

The children, who witnessed the attack on their father, are reported to be suffering from trauma as a result.

B had also assaulted a third person, identified as C, about 10 minutes before attacking A, in front of a restaurant near the park.

C was walking a dog at the time. B approached while hurling profanities, punched C between the nose and upper lip, then attempted a tackle. When C stepped back and assumed a defensive stance, B laughed and walked toward the park.

B, who carried out two violent attacks on strangers within 10 minutes, has been referred to prosecutors on charges of assault.
