Mapo-gu will hold its "2026 Mapo-gu Integrity Festa with the District Mayor" on Wednesday.
The event aims to raise awareness of integrity, foster a fair organizational culture and build public trust in the district administration.
Rather than a conventional lecture-style session, the festa is designed as an interactive, participatory event so staff can absorb the value and meaning of integrity in a natural, accessible way.
The day unfolds in two parts: a "Morning Commute Integrity Campaign" and an "Integrity Concert."
The morning campaign runs from 8:30 a.m. in the first-floor lobby of the Mapo-gu District Office and features two activities: an integrity roulette quiz and an "integrity tree" display.
District Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun will join staff in spinning the roulette wheel and answering quiz questions, taking part in the integrity pledge alongside his employees.
Staff will also write their thoughts on integrity, organizational culture and district affairs on note cards and post them on the integrity tree, sharing perspectives and building a sense of common purpose.
At 2 p.m., the Integrity Concert opens in the main auditorium, featuring three segments in succession: an integrity talk show, an integrity lecture and an integrity pop-opera performance.
The talk show brings together District Mayor Yoo, a professional moderator and staff members for an open conversation covering employees' concerns, questions about district affairs and real-world integrity cases — all aimed at sharing ideas for building a more ethical organizational culture.
The integrity lecture breaks down key statutes and regulations that public officials must know — including the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act and the Public Officials' Conflict of Interest Prevention Act — through practical case studies to help staff deepen their understanding.
Closing the event, a male pop-opera quartet blends classical and pop styles to convey the spirit of integrity through music, giving staff an engaging, approachable way to reflect on integrity as part of everyday life.
"Integrity takes root as a culture only when it is practiced in the daily relationships of an organization — not merely known as a set of laws and rules," District Mayor Yoo said. "I hope the Integrity Festa becomes an opportunity to hear our employees' honest voices and find answers together, and we will do our utmost to build a fair and trusted Mapo-gu administration."
