Mayor Choi Hyun-deok: 'We will actively support efforts to turn exposure into actual purchases'

The city of Namyangju announced Monday that it is expanding its Namyangju Biz Showcase video promotion project, which aims to raise awareness of products and services offered by local businesses among residents, as the city enters its ninth elected-term administration under Mayor Choi Hyun-deok.

The project was designed to support small and medium-sized enterprises that struggle to secure their own advertising channels. The city uses a range of local promotional platforms to publicize companies' products and services, helping them build name recognition and expand their sales reach.

Promotional videos are currently broadcast across spaces closely tied to residents' daily lives, including a large outdoor display at the Donong Station intersection, IPTV screens in township and neighborhood offices, a multimedia promotion zone at city hall, elevator screens in apartment buildings, and the Namyangju Public Health Center.

The city is broadening its promotional reach by using the outdoor display at the busy Donong Station intersection and 3,089 video screens installed across 191 apartment complexes, allowing residents to encounter local businesses' products and services naturally in their everyday routines.

The city also plans to extend video broadcasts to large retail venues, including Lotte Mart, the Dessian commercial complex and Hansung Mall's Namyangju branch. It is also in talks with relevant agencies about using digital promotional screens inside stations, including Byeollae Station.

Through these efforts, the city aims to build what it calls a "lifestyle-integrated business promotion network" — one that puts local companies in front of residents not just in fixed locations but throughout the spaces and routes of their daily lives.

"Many small and medium-sized enterprises have great products and technology but struggle with promotion," Mayor Choi said. "We will actively use the diverse spaces and media that residents encounter every day to promote local businesses and support efforts to turn that exposure into actual purchases."

Meanwhile, any company wishing to participate in the Namyangju Biz Showcase may apply at no cost. For details, interested businesses can contact the enterprise support team at Namyangju's local economy division.
