LS Electric announced Monday that it has secured a $165.72 million (230.9 billion won) contract to supply power equipment for an AI data center operated by a North American big tech company.

The deal expands a contract signed in June, with the order volume increased at the customer's request, more than doubling the original contract value. LS Electric had initially signed a $70.43 million agreement with the same company to supply 38-kilovolt high-voltage power distribution systems.

The contract runs from June 8, the date of the original agreement, through Jan. 30 next year.

The additional order builds on trust LS Electric established by successfully delivering distribution systems under an earlier data center infrastructure contract with the same big tech client. The company has secured supply chain stability through local production bases, including LS Electric Utah in Utah and its Bastrop campus in Texas.

LS Electric plans to use the contract as a springboard to accelerate its push into the next-generation AI data center power infrastructure market.

"We continue to win follow-on orders by successfully executing projects for global big tech customers," a company official said. "We will concentrate our full capabilities on solidifying our position as a key partner to global big tech firms and expanding our dominance in the AI data center power market, backed by proven technology and a stable supply chain."

Meanwhile, LS Electric has been on a winning streak in North America, where large-scale AI investment is surging. The company recently signed a $34.26 million contract with global power company Bloom Energy to supply power distribution solutions.
