Hankook Tire & Technology announced Monday that it has extended its official partnership with German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund by two years.
Hankook Tire has been an official partner of Borussia Dortmund since 2009, building a relationship spanning 17 years. Under the extended deal, the company will continue as a "Champion Partner," marking its 18th season of the partnership this year.
During the partnership, Hankook Tire will carry out a range of advertising and marketing activities in and around Dortmund's home stadium, maintaining brand visibility through large LED boards and electronic displays while running fan engagement programs.
The club's team bus is fitted with the premium Smart Touring AL22 — designed for medium- and long-distance intercity and express coach use — on the front axle, and the premium Smart Touring DL22, a long-distance and regional transport drive-axle tire, on the rear. The sidewalls feature colorful "Hankook" lettering to reinforce brand identity and highlight the company's quality to football fans worldwide.
Borussia Dortmund plays its home matches at Signal Iduna Park, Germany's largest football-dedicated stadium, and is one of the Bundesliga's most storied clubs. The team draws some of the highest average attendances in Europe and commands a global fanbase of millions, giving it strong influence well beyond Germany.
Beyond Borussia Dortmund, Hankook Tire maintains partnerships across major international sporting platforms, including the UEFA Europa League, the UEFA Europa Conference League, the Ballon d'Or — football's most prestigious individual award — the Tomorrow Golf League (TGL) simulation golf competition in the United States, and Saudi club Al Ain FC.
Meanwhile, Hankook Tire has also been expanding its global customer touchpoints through various marketing initiatives, including participation in Demo Days Bay Area, North America's largest electric vehicle expo, held at Alameda Point in California.
