Accor, the global hospitality group behind hotel brands including Sofitel, Pullman and Ibis, announced Monday the appointment of Jo Min-sook as vice president of operations for South Korea.
Jo brings more than 30 years of hotel industry experience to the role, having built her career in sales and marketing across major luxury hotels in Korea and abroad, starting out as a promotions manager. She joined Accor in 2009 as director of sales and marketing at Novotel Ambassador Seoul Gangnam.
Within Accor, she served as general manager of Ibis Ambassador Seoul Gangnam, then as cluster general manager overseeing the opening of Ibis Styles Ambassador Seoul Myeong-dong and the rebranding of Ibis Styles Ambassador Seoul Gangnam.
She later led the opening of Novotel Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun Hotels & Residences, the world's first combo-model property under the Novotel brand, and spearheaded the launches of Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Hotel & Serviced Residences and Pullman Ambassador Seoul Eastpole.
Jo has been recognized for exceeding sales and operating profit targets, securing the Green Key eco-certification, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening staff capabilities through rapid organizational stabilization.
In her new role, Jo will oversee the operational strategy for Accor's hotels in South Korea, leading support for new hotel openings, managing joint venture partnerships, and coordinating with regional and global headquarters.
"The South Korean hotel market is entering a period of change, with customer expectations rising while demand for sustainability and digital innovation expands rapidly," Jo said. "I will do my best to develop talented people and strengthen the unique value and service quality of each brand, so that Accor can build lasting competitiveness and continue to grow in the Korean market."
