Inspire Entertainment Resort announced Monday that it is partnering with JYP Entertainment and the nonprofit HearCycle to improve hearing accessibility at live performances.

The collaboration aims to enhance concert access for people with hearing loss and foster a more inclusive performance environment. It is part of Inspire's ESG initiative called Sound Beyond Hearing. The effort takes on added significance as South Korea is set to require hearing-assistance equipment in public facilities starting in November.

Under the partnership, Inspire will provide a skybox at Inspire Arena as a dedicated listening space to ensure stable operation of an Auracast-based hearing-assistance system during concerts by JYP Entertainment artists. The resort will also provide technical support for transmitter installation and on-site operations, and will collaborate on producing testimonial content from project participants.

Auracast wirelessly transmits concert audio directly to hearing aids or cochlear implants, enabling clearer sound. People with hearing loss who use such devices have long struggled to clearly distinguish an artist's voice or lyrics in large concert venues, and the system is expected to address that challenge.

The collaboration will begin with concerts by JYP artists — including 2PM, Day6 and Young K — held at Inspire Arena, and will continue through performances scheduled for the second half of the year. Inspire said it plans to keep reviewing ways to further improve accessibility at its venues.

"Through this project, we will build operational experience in improving concert venue accessibility and work toward creating an inclusive environment where more audiences can enjoy live performance culture together," an Inspire official said.
