Samsung C&T's resort division Everland said Monday that more than 100,000 people have participated in the naming vote for the fourth giant panda born in South Korea.

The milestone came just six days after Everland launched simultaneous online and in-person voting through its app and at Panda World on Tuesday.

Short-form videos of zookeepers casting their own votes, released in sequence on Everland's social media channels, have also drawn more than 2 million cumulative views.

The five candidate names were chosen by a naming committee made up of zookeepers, veterinarians and staff from relevant departments, who reviewed more than 10,000 submissions gathered in an initial open public call for name ideas.

All five names follow the "bao" syllable shared by the panda family: Jubao ("Jubao," a treasure as precious as a pearl or jewel), Junbao ("Junbao," an outstanding and handsome treasure), Linbao ("Linbao," a treasure as rare as beautiful jade), Yubao ("Yubao," a treasure watched over and blessed by all), and Shubao ("Shubao," a treasure as bright as the light of dawn).

The winning name, selected through this second round of voting, is set to be announced in September, when the cub turns 100 days old.

"Fans and zookeepers are coming together to give our baby panda a precious name that will stay with her for life," an Everland official said. "We ask for your warm support so that our youngest panda can grow up healthy, surrounded by love and blessings."
