Actor Jang Dong-yoon has earned his degree from Hanyang University, 15 years after first enrolling.

On Thursday, Jang posted a single photo on his social media with no caption other than a crying emoji.

The photo showed a screenshot of the Hanyang University student portal, where his enrollment status had been updated to "graduate."

According to his agency BH Entertainment, Jang received his bachelor's degree Thursday afternoon at a degree ceremony for the second semester of the 2025 academic year, held at the Olympic Gymnasium on Hanyang University's Seoul campus.

Born in 1992, Jang enrolled in the university's Department of Economics and Finance in 2011.

In 2015, while a third-year student, Jang made headlines after helping subdue an armed robber at a convenience store in Gwanak-gu, Seoul.

His looks drew further attention during a subsequent news interview, earning him the nickname "the handsome Hanyang student who caught a robber" and making him a viral sensation online. He went on to receive offers from entertainment agencies and pursued a career in acting, making his formal debut in 2016 through the web drama series "Game Company Women."

He once joked on a variety show that he had been a fourth-year student for 10 years running, having juggled his acting career with his studies.

Jang has appeared in a wide range of projects, including the drama series "School 2017," "Mr. Sunshine," "Ddanddara Girls," "Joseon Romance: Nokdu Flower," "Oasis," "Morning Comes to the Psychiatric Ward," "Flowers Bloom Even in Sand" and "Mantis: A Killer's Outing."
