Kangwon Land held a promotional briefing for representatives from major academic societies and corporations, presenting its facility upgrades and infrastructure as part of a push to attract more corporate events. The company aims to capitalize on a large-scale renovation to raise its profile in the meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions industry and secure group event bookings ahead of competitors.
Kangwon Land said it hosted "HIGH1 MICE Day 2026" on Thursday at the Korea Science and Technology Center in Seoul, inviting more than 100 representatives from academic societies and corporate clients.
The event was organized to showcase the resort's upgraded infrastructure following renovations to guest rooms and key facilities. Attendees received an overview of the improvements as well as details on the resort's full range of operational amenities, including accommodations, food and beverage outlets, and leisure facilities.
Kangwon Land also opened a dedicated MICE consultation desk where staff provided tailored advice to corporate and academic representatives on planning and running events. Participants were briefed on a familiarization tour program offering a firsthand look at High1 Resort, with the aim of converting interest into actual bookings for corporate retreats and group events.
Lee Min-ho, acting head of Kangwon Land's tourism marketing division, said the event gave the company a chance to introduce the renovated High1 Resort directly to MICE industry contacts. "We will continue to expand our touchpoints with customers and promote High1's differentiated strengths to attract a wide range of events," he said.
Kangwon Land said its active event-recruitment efforts drove MICE-related visitor numbers up about 24 percent, from 86,000 in 2024 to 107,000 in 2025. The company plans to sustain that momentum through regular MICE briefings and collaboration with related organizations to identify new customers and secure additional group event bookings.
