Residents flocked to the water play area at Boramae Park in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, on Wednesday afternoon to beat the heat as scorching temperatures returned after a brief respite from rain. Temperatures and the heat index have been rising again since Tuesday, with extreme heat advisories expanding across Seoul and the broader metropolitan area. The Korea Meteorological Administration forecast that intense daytime heat and tropical nights will persist for now.
