Guro-gu (district mayor Jang In-hong) will host a special lecture by broadcaster Park Gyeong-rim at Guro-gu Citizens' Hall on Sept. 22 at 2 p.m., as part of the district's efforts to expand lifelong learning opportunities and improve residents' quality of life.
The lecture, titled "A Life Enriched Through Empathy and Communication," will be delivered by Park, one of South Korea's leading broadcasters. Park majored in broadcasting and entertainment at Dongduk Women's University, has won the MC category at the Brand of the Year Awards, and currently hosts Channel A's "Amor Body," a health and lifestyle program.
Drawing on her years in broadcasting, Park will speak about the importance of empathy and communication in human relationships and share practical ways to build richer connections in everyday life.
The session runs from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 22 — approximately 90 minutes — and is open to anyone, not just Guro-gu residents. Up to 300 participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and attendance is free.
Registration opens Monday. Applicants can sign up online by scanning a QR code or visiting the Guro Lifelong Learning Center's official website, or register by phone.
"We hope Park's stories — shaped by a career built on connecting with people and championing the value of empathy — will give residents a chance to reflect on what it means to truly understand and communicate with one another," a Guro-gu official said. "We will continue to run a wide range of lifelong learning programs to support residents' growth and learning."
