Choi Deok-hyung, CEO of Golfzon Commerce, joined the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's relay campaign to eradicate illegal youth gambling, the company announced Wednesday.
The campaign aims to raise awareness of the growing threat of illegal online gambling targeting young people and to broaden public attention and participation in protecting them from its harms. Business and institutional leaders take part in a relay format, passing on a youth anti-gambling message before nominating the next participant.
Nominated by Kim Moon-seok, CEO of SBI Savings Bank, Choi delivered the campaign's core message — "Illegal cyber gambling targeting youth is a fraud crime you can never win" — and added his voice to building broader social consensus around preventing and eradicating illegal youth gambling.
"Illegal online gambling among youth is not merely a form of youthful rebellion — it is a serious social problem that threatens healthy development and their future," Choi said. "I hope this campaign helps more people recognize the dangers of illegal gambling, and that the attention and effort of every member of society will continue so that young people can grow up in a safe environment."
Meanwhile, Choi nominated Jang Seok-heon, CEO of Volvik, as the next participant to carry the campaign forward.
