Jungnang-gu officially launched its 2026 Ulji CPX on Tuesday morning with an opening situation briefing at the district's Ulji operations center, kicking off a four-day exercise designed to prepare for national emergencies and wartime scenarios.
This year's exercise runs from Tuesday through Friday, Aug. 18-21, spanning three nights and four days. It focuses on strengthening response capabilities in real crisis situations and reviewing emergency preparedness in light of rapidly shifting international conditions and complex security threats.
Highlights include civil defense evacuation drills, gas mask fitting exercises and emergency blood collection drills simulating a wartime blood supply crisis — all aimed at building the capacity to respond swiftly and systematically when emergencies arise.
"Practical training that enables a rapid, systematic response even in actual crisis situations is essential given the grave security environment," District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi said. "We will thoroughly review our emergency preparedness posture to protect the lives and property of Jungnang-gu residents."
