President Lee Jae Myung will meet Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party and China's foreign minister, when Wang visits South Korea on Thursday to discuss bilateral issues.

Cheong Wa Dae said Tuesday that Lee is scheduled to receive Wang there Thursday morning during Wang's one-night, two-day official visit to South Korea from Wednesday to Thursday.

At the meeting, Lee plans to share views on the direction of South Korea-China relations and the regional situation, and to convey greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping.

High-level diplomatic and security consultations are also set for the same day. National Security Adviser Wi Sung-lac will hold separate talks and a luncheon with Wang, who also serves as director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission of the Chinese Communist Party.

Wi and Wang are expected to exchange wide-ranging views on topics of mutual interest, including South Korea-China relations, the situation on the Korean Peninsula, and regional and international affairs.
