A Wildberries logistics warehouse in Moscow burns Sunday (local time) after a Ukrainian strike. [Reuters]

Ukraine launched the largest-ever attack on the Moscow region, the area's governor said Sunday (local time).

Moscow Governor Andrei Vorobyov said on Telegram that Ukraine struck the Moscow region overnight Saturday in what he described as the biggest assault on the area to date, killing at least one person.

He said a logistics warehouse belonging to Wildberries, Russia's largest online retailer, was hit in the Podolsk area, killing an 83-year-old man and wounding several others. Damage was also reported at a logistics facility in Domodedovo — near one of Moscow's major airports — and at several other sites, he added.

Ukraine has targeted Wildberries in recent weeks, accusing the company of distributing military supplies.

Meanwhile, Russia's Defense Ministry said it had shot down 822 Ukrainian drones across the country that day.
