Doosan Engineering & Construction posted sales of 764.5 billion won ($540 million) and operating profit of 72.7 billion won in the first half of 2026, the company announced Friday. Operating profit rose 35.6% from 53.6 billion won in the same period a year earlier, reflecting improved profitability.

In a regulatory filing, the company said the results show that "our selective order strategy, centered on profitability, is translating into earnings as construction activity ramps up at major project sites."

The cost ratio fell to 84.8% in the first half, down 4.7 percentage points from 89.5% a year earlier. The operating profit margin climbed to 9.5% from 6.2% over the same period, a gain of 3.3 percentage points.

On the order front, the company expanded its project pipeline in the Greater Seoul area with a focus on Seoul while selectively targeting large-scale sites in key regions. Having secured 2.6 trillion won in urban redevelopment contracts in the first half, the company is working toward its annual maximum target. Doosan Engineering & Construction plans to continue aggressive order activity in the second half, concentrating on private urban redevelopment and public housing projects.

In the public housing segment, the company has been selected as the contractor for Seoul's No. 1 and No. 2 urban public housing complex projects and is advancing both. Demolition work at both sites is set to begin before year-end. The Sinseol District 1 zone is on track after becoming the first public redevelopment project to receive approval for its project implementation plan. The company also plans to step up its public housing push by participating in the bidding for the Bucheon Wonmi urban public housing complex project.

"We will continue to broaden our project base in Seoul and the Greater Seoul area while strengthening a stable growth foundation through a diverse portfolio that includes private urban redevelopment and public housing," a company official said.
