The KPGA Youth Golf Camp, bringing together tour professionals and young aspiring golfers, concluded to great success.
Now in its third year, the 2026 KPGA Youth Golf Camp ran for three days from Tuesday through Thursday at Oak Valley Country Club in Wonju, Gangwon Province. Twenty KPGA Tour players and 60 young golfers from elementary, middle and high schools took part.
On the opening day, participants went through an orientation followed by practice play and sports science measurements. KPGA Tour professionals joined from the second day onward, pairing up with the young players each morning for two days of rounds together. The junior players watched the tour pros up close, picking up course management strategies and competitive game skills.
After each round, a talk concert gave the young players a chance to ask the professionals questions they had long been curious about. A "Dream Cap" rolling paper activity and an autograph session added to the camp's memorable moments. The final day closed with a graduation ceremony featuring awards, certificate presentations and a group photo.
The camp drew some of the KPGA Tour's most prominent names, including first-half winners this season Choi Chan, 29 (Daewon Plus Group), Moon Dong-hyun, 20 (Woori Financial Group), Oh Seung-taek, 28 (Cowell) and Lee Sang-yeop, 32, as well as past Genesis Award winners Moon Gyeong-jun, 44, and Lee Tae-hee, 42 (OK Savings Bank).
Participating player Jeong Chan-min said the program was a strong asset for the next generation. "When I was young, there was no opportunity like this — it's great that such a wonderful program now exists for these kids," he said. "It was a short schedule, but I tried to stay by their side throughout every round to help them enjoy the game. I hope this experience proves a great help as they grow into professional golfers."
