Haerin of girl group NewJeans has taken on her first solo activity since returning to her agency, appearing on the cover of a fashion magazine.
Marie Claire unveiled the cover shoot for its September issue featuring Haerin through its official social media account on Friday, according to Yonhap.
The magazine described the shoot as capturing "Haerin's clear and vibrant moments, like the start of a new season," adding that it sought to portray "Haerin's own face — where loveliness and confidence, elegance and freedom coexist — in a space reminiscent of a single flower just blooming in an old Parisian garden."
It marks Haerin's first magazine cover since Elle Japan in February last year.
It is also her first solo project since she and fellow member Hyein returned to Ador in November last year following a contract dispute. The cover shoot was carried out as part of her activities as an Ador artist.
Ador, NewJeans' agency, said it proceeded with the shoot after receiving the proposal and discussing it with Haerin.
However, the shoot is unrelated to any resumption of music activities, sources said.
Ador said it would announce details of NewJeans' comeback "once specific plans and the format for music activities are confirmed."
