Korea Investment Securities announced Friday that it will co-host a "Synergy Club" seminar on Aug. 27 with affiliates Korea Investment Accelerator and Korea Investment Partners to help CEOs of unlisted companies develop their listing strategies.
Participating CEOs will work alongside the firm's investment banking experts to assess each company's IPO readiness, covering equity structure, stock option design, investment contract terms and accounting frameworks.
The event will be held in a round-table format rather than a conventional one-way lecture, allowing in-depth discussion of individual company cases. Organizers also plan to facilitate networking and exchanges among participating firms.
The seminar showcases the "total value chain" Korea Investment Financial Group has built through collaboration among its affiliates. Under the model, an early-stage startup that receives seed investment from Korea Investment Accelerator can later tap Korea Investment Partners for follow-on funding to scale up, before Korea Investment Securities takes the company through to listing and asset management.
Korea Investment Accelerator, which handles early-stage company support within the group, has invested 40.8 billion won ($28.8 million) in 120 companies since its launch in 2022 through the end of last year. Companies less than three years old account for 66 percent of that portfolio, reflecting its role as the "first institutional investor" for startups.
Korea Investment Partners, the country's largest venture capital firm with 5 trillion won in assets under management, channels large-scale funding into seed-stage companies to propel them toward unicorn status. Korea Investment Securities then brings the growth cycle to fruition through pre-IPO equity investment and lead management of initial public offerings.
"The total value chain is an integrated financial solution that covers every stage of a company's lifecycle," a Korea Investment Securities official said. "We will continue to strengthen the 'one-team' synergy among our affiliates to help promising domestic companies grow into global unicorns."
Korea Investment Securities earlier co-hosted a defense industry seminar for mid-sized companies in the southeastern region last month with the Korea Middle Market Enterprise Federation. The event brought together owners of mid-sized firms in the southeast — an area with a dense concentration of defense value-chain companies — to examine shifts in the industry's paradigm and share future growth strategies. The company said it plans to continue engaging with owners of mid-sized and early-stage businesses through a range of channels to support their growth.
