Tous les Jours launched three Agjak cakes Thursday (local time) at its company-owned stores in La Habra, Cerritos and Brea in the western United States.

The products are sold under the "NOT FRUIT. CAKE." series, a name designed to help American consumers immediately grasp the concept: the cakes look like fruit on the outside but are, in fact, cake.

The three items are named "I'm Not Peach. Cake," "I'm Not Mango. Cake" and "I'm Not Pistachio. Cake." The manufacturing process and core characteristics of the original Korean Agjak line have been kept intact.

Tous les Jours plans to closely monitor sales performance and consumer response at its company-owned stores in the western US before considering an expansion to franchise locations.

The Agjak cake debuted in March and became a hit thanks to its fruit-shaped appearance and the crisp, crackling texture it delivers the moment a bite is taken. The line launched in Indonesia last month and has sold out daily since, cementing its reputation as a flagship product driving the K-bakery trend.

"Following our success in Indonesia, we plan to bring the same brand experience from Korea to the United States — a key global market — and showcase the competitiveness of K-bakery to a wider audience," a CJ Foodville official said.
