Seoul Metropolitan Council Speaker Im Man-gyun visited Seoul Metropolitan Boramae Hospital in Sindaebang-dong, Dongjak-gu, on Wednesday afternoon to encourage medical staff working through the summer heat and to hear directly from frontline healthcare workers.
Boramae Hospital is the leading public medical institution in Seoul's southwestern district, operated under a management contract with Seoul National University Hospital. The visit was aimed at inspecting the hospital's operations and facilities firsthand — the hospital serves about 1 million patients a year.
Im toured the emergency medical center, key clinical departments and patient wards, carefully reviewing the hospital's facilities and operational status. He also checked whether the hospital's core public functions — including care for medically underserved populations and essential medical services — were being carried out smoothly on the ground.
"Boramae Hospital serves as a key public hospital for residents not only in Gwanak-gu but also in neighboring areas such as Dongjak, Yeongdeungpo and Guro, which makes the attention and support of the Seoul Metropolitan Council and the Seoul Metropolitan Government all the more important," Im said. "The City Council will continue to provide solid backing so the hospital can fulfill its role as a leading public hospital — not just for Seoul, but for the entire country."
