Jongno-gu held a free kongguksu (cold soybean noodle soup) sharing event Wednesday at Haengchon Gongter Branch 2 (11 Sajikro 1da-gil).
Organized by a Gyonam-dong community club as part of the 2026 Resident Communication Public Offering Project, the event served elderly residents a free meal and brought neighbors together.
District Mayor Yoo Chan-jong, who helped serve food that day, said he hoped elderly residents would "get through this summer without being worn down by the heat."
