Tayota, a professional motorcycle leasing company, has launched a safety campaign wishing riders an accident-free season as the summer delivery peak gets underway.

The company selected 16 client firms with no accident records over the past year and will present them with accident-free wish goods and premium first-aid kits.

A bus campaign wishing riders safe journeys kicked off in Seoul on Tuesday, carrying the slogan: "Please arrive safely today — your delivery, and you."

According to the Road Traffic Authority's Traffic Accident Analysis System, motorcycle accidents claimed 388 lives last year across 14,129 incidents. The fatality rate of 2.75 deaths per 100 accidents is roughly 2.1 times the overall road traffic average of 1.31 and about 3.1 times the passenger car rate of 0.90.

Tayota said it designed the campaign to raise awareness that rider safety must be the top priority in the delivery market, and plans to continue the initiative over the long term.

Tayota posted sales of about 16.37 billion won ($11.6 million) through the end of June this year, up more than 33 percent from 12.28 billion won in the same period last year. The company expects full-year sales to reach 40 billion won, compared with 30.5 billion won last year.

Tayota is also working to share its growth experience with other small and medium-sized venture companies. Those efforts earned the company a partnership award from Industrial Bank of Korea in February, and it was subsequently named one of just 88 executive-member firms out of more than 20,000 members of the Korea Venture Business Association.
