Dong-A Otsuka announced Thursday that it has teamed up with the industrial accident prevention division of the Ministry of Employment and Labor's Anyang branch office to run a summer heat relief campaign for delivery workers in Anyang and Uiwang.
The support targeted two mobile worker rest centers — one each in Anyang and Uiwang — and included a total of 3,600 bottles of the ion drink Pocari Sweat.
"We will continue to work with the Ministry of Employment and Labor and other relevant agencies to provide diverse support for preventing heat-related illness and to promote a culture of safety," said Park Cheol-ho, president and chief executive of Dong-A Otsuka.
Meanwhile, Dong-A Otsuka partnered with the Busan chapter of the Korean Red Cross on Aug. 3 to respond to record-breaking heat in the Busan area, donating 10,000 packets of Pocari Sweat powder and 1,500 cans of the product to vulnerable residents.
