Yang Min-hyuk, the 20-year-old Tottenham Hotspur forward, is heading to Belgium on loan.

Belgian Pro League (first division) side KVC Westerlo announced Wednesday that it had signed Yang on a one-season loan from Tottenham. He will wear the No. 47 shirt.

"Yang Min-hyuk's technically refined playing style gives him an edge in one-on-one situations, scoring and creating assists," Westerlo said, adding that he would be "a great attacking option" for the club.

Tottenham also confirmed Wednesday that Yang would spend the 2026-2027 season on loan at Westerlo.

The Athletic had earlier reported that Westerlo and Tottenham had agreed on a one-season loan deal. The loan contract is understood not to include a permanent transfer option.

Yang signed with Tottenham during the 2024 K League 1 season while playing for Gangwon FC and officially joined the club in January 2025.

He has yet to appear in a competitive first-team match for Tottenham, however. Shortly after joining, he was loaned to Queens Park Rangers in the English Championship for his first season in Europe.

Last August, ahead of the 2025-2026 season, he moved on loan to Championship side Portsmouth, then was loaned again to Coventry City in January.

Coventry won the Championship title last season and earned promotion to the Premier League, but Yang made only three league appearances and one FA Cup match during his loan spell.

Yang returned to Tottenham after the season ended and took part in preseason matches as he prepared for the new campaign, but has opted for another loan move.

Yang made his South Korea national team debut last year and has earned two senior international caps. He has also been named to the final squad for the men's football tournament at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, set to be held next month.
