Gangnam-gu, led by District Mayor Kim Hyeon-gi, is recruiting trainees for its "AI Vibe Coding Service Planning Course," a program designed to help young people with no coding experience turn their ideas into real, working products using generative AI.
Vibe coding is a development approach in which users describe in plain language what they want to build, and generative AI writes and refines the code on their behalf. Rather than writing complex code themselves, participants focus on planning what to create, reviewing the AI's output and making adjustments as needed — allowing anyone with limited programming knowledge to bring an idea to life as an online service.
The course is part of Gangnam-gu's Mirae employment and startup academy. It goes beyond teaching basic AI usage: participants work through the full cycle of shaping an idea, building a functioning early-stage product and publishing it online, with the goal of producing practical portfolio material for job searches or startup preparations.
Classes run every Monday and Wednesday from Aug. 31 through Oct. 28, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the third education building of Chunghyeon Church on Nonhyeon-ro. The program is open to Gangnam-gu residents between the ages of 19 and 39 who are preparing to enter the workforce. Applicants must apply online and pass an interview to be selected.
The curriculum unfolds in three stages. In the first, participants identify a problem they want to solve and design the concept, features and structure of their initial product. The second stage involves hands-on practice building a website with AI tools and automating repetitive tasks. In the final stage, participants publish their finished product and prepare a presentation summarizing its key features and growth potential.
The district covers full tuition and subsidizes paid AI tool subscriptions at 300,000 won ($212) per person. Interested youth may apply online via the QR code on the program poster through Wednesday. For further details, contact the Mirae employment and startup academy operations office.
