Nominated by Korea Federation of Banks chief Cho Yong-byung
NH NongHyup Bank, Kakao Bank heads tapped as next participants
Woori Bank said Wednesday that President Jeong Jin-wan has joined the "Life-Saving Finance Relay Campaign," an initiative launched by the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency.
The campaign was created to protect financially vulnerable people harmed by illegal private lending and to raise awareness of inclusive finance. Korea Inclusive Finance Agency President Kim Eun-kyung kicked off the relay in July, with participants posting photos carrying the campaign message on SNS and nominating the next person to join.
Jeong, nominated by Korea Federation of Banks Chairman Cho Yong-byung, used his participation to underscore Woori Bank's commitment to supporting low-income borrowers and financially vulnerable groups. He nominated NH NongHyup Bank President Kang Tae-young and Kakao Bank CEO Yun Ho-young as the next participants.
"I was delighted to join this meaningful campaign that started at the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency," Jeong said. "As the country's representative bank founded on national capital, Woori Bank will continue to lead the way in supporting low-income borrowers by actively practicing inclusive finance that helps and uplifts the financially vulnerable."
Meanwhile, the Life-Saving Finance Relay Campaign, which began with Korea Inclusive Finance Agency President Kim Eun-kyung in July, has drawn a growing number of financial industry figures, including Korea Federation of Banks Chairman Cho Yong-byung and Korea Federation of Savings Banks Chairman Oh Hwa-kyung.
