Swedish premium electric vehicle brand Polestar announced Wednesday the launch of its Polestar Warranty Extension Program.
The program extends warranty coverage to major components beyond the expiration of the standard new-vehicle warranty, helping owners maintain the value and reliability of their vehicles for longer.
The coverage mirrors that of the original new-vehicle warranty and can be fully transferred to the next owner when the vehicle is sold. It is designed to reduce the burden of unexpected repair costs while preserving official warranty benefits in the used-vehicle market, supporting the vehicle's residual value.
The program comes in two tiers: Plus and Performance. Plus adds one year or 20,000 kilometers of coverage after the standard warranty expires, while Performance extends coverage by two years or 40,000 kilometers. In both cases, whichever threshold — time or mileage — is reached first applies.
Enrolled customers can receive inspection and repair services from dedicated Polestar EV technicians at any of 38 Polestar service points nationwide, which operate through Volvo Cars' official service centers. Pickup and delivery service is also available for warranty repairs.
To mark the program's launch, Polestar Korea is offering a special benefit to customers who enroll by Sept. 11. Enrollees can receive reimbursement of up to 500,000 won ($353) per incident for out-of-pocket deductibles incurred in a vehicle accident, subject to policy terms and conditions. Plus members can claim the benefit up to three times over one year, while Performance members can claim it up to six times over two years.
Polestar Korea will also hold a prize draw offering a 2 million won Stayfolio travel gift certificate to one winner, 500,000 won Stayfolio travel gift certificates to two winners, and 100,000 won electric vehicle charging vouchers to 10 winners.
"The Polestar Warranty Extension Program is a service designed to give customers greater peace of mind throughout their time with the vehicle," said Ham Jong-seong, CEO of Polestar Korea. "We will continue to expand our customer services to deliver a differentiated ownership experience at every stage after purchase."
Polestar has also been broadening its customer touchpoints through various marketing activities, including the recent release of a television commercial for its flagship electric performance SUV, the Polestar 3, featuring brand ambassador Kim Woo-bin across TV and major digital channels.
