The South Coast Fermented Food Industry Support Center, located in Seungju-eup, Suncheon, is pursuing international testing laboratory accreditation to boost equipment utilization and strengthen its research capabilities.
The initiative aims to expand testing support across fermented food, general food and biotech sectors using the center's existing analytical equipment, positioning it as a specialized analysis institution that meets international standards.
International testing laboratory accreditation is a system under which a testing body's quality management system and technical competence are officially evaluated against international standards.
Once accredited, test reports issued by the center would be recognized in more than 100 countries under international mutual recognition agreements, allowing local companies to save time and money by avoiding repeat testing abroad during the export process.
