The city of Suncheon has published a white paper documenting the activities, campaign pledges and policy proposals of the transition committee for its ninth directly elected mayoral term.
The white paper systematically compiles the administration's vision for the new term, the transition committee's work, campaign pledges, policy proposals and public input. The city said it will use the document as a foundational reference for shaping city governance and advancing key policies.
To incorporate public voices broadly into city administration, the transition committee opened an online feedback channel called "Window of Communication" on the city's website and conducted field visits to key sites, collecting a total of 227 public suggestions.
The submissions were reviewed by policy area and incorporated into campaign pledges and policy tasks to help define the direction of the new administration.
Beyond documenting the public engagement process and the committee's activities, the white paper brings together 52 campaign pledges, 12 policy proposals and citizen policy suggestions, giving readers a comprehensive overview of the policy directions and tasks Suncheon plans to pursue under the new term.
"I will carefully review the public voices and policy proposals in the white paper, faithfully reflect them in city administration, and translate them into tangible changes that residents can feel in their daily lives," Mayor Son Hun-mo said.
The city plans to use the white paper as a reference for policy development and project implementation across all departments, while continuing to refine the new term's campaign pledges and major policy tasks and monitoring their progress on an ongoing basis.
