The Korea Football Association closed applications for its interim national team head coach position Sunday at 5 p.m. and plans to form a candidate evaluation committee by the end of this week.

The KFA will form the evaluation committee with some members of the national team performance enhancement committee and outside experts. Online interviews are scheduled for next week, after which the KFA will finalize a priority negotiating order and enter negotiations.

The KFA decided to recruit the interim head coach and coaching staff together as a unit. Applicants must assemble a coaching staff of between five and seven members, including the head coach, and apply as a single team. Domestic candidates for the head coach position must hold an Asian Football Confederation P-license or an equivalent coaching qualification, along with a Level 2 professional sports instructor certification. Domestic coaching staff candidates must hold an AFC A-license and a Level 2 professional sports instructor certification, while foreign candidates must hold the relevant qualifications for their respective roles and have at least five years of coaching experience.

A number of domestic and foreign coaches are understood to have applied, though the KFA has not disclosed the names of any applicants.

The interim head coach selected through this process will lead the national team through the November A-match window.
