Police have launched an investigation after a foreign woman in her 30s who had been working on a farm was found dead in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, about 28 hours after she went missing.
According to Yonhap and other reports, the woman, identified only as A, was found dead Saturday around 7 p.m. in bushes near a farm in Sejong the Great-myeon, Yeoju.
A had been working in the fields when she told coworkers Friday around 3 p.m. that she was feeling unwell and left to rest — and was not seen again.
The farm owner filed a missing persons report, and police and fire department officials conducted a joint search before finding A collapsed and dead in the bushes roughly 28 hours after she disappeared.
A had entered the country on a seasonal worker visa allowing an eight-month stay.
The area where she was found had been under a severe heat wave alert since Aug. 3.
