Twelve member companies of the association tour Hwanggeum industrial complex and other sites Monday and Tuesday
The Gwangyang Bay Free Economic Zone Authority is hosting a two-day site inspection and investment trade forum Monday and Tuesday for 12 member companies of the Anhui Province Scientists and Entrepreneurs Association of China, including party secretary Dai Jianhua and vice chairman Li Hongwei.
Founded in 1988, the Anhui Province Scientists and Entrepreneurs Association is a leading economic organization in Anhui Province, comprising more than 6,000 member companies across 68 industries — including power, automotive, energy and food — along with more than 1,100 specialist scholars.
The visit follows up on an MOU the two sides signed during an investment promotion trip to Hefei, Anhui Province, on May 12. It was arranged to allow association members interested in overseas expansion to assess the investment environment in the Gwangyang Bay area firsthand and discuss cooperation, including potential moves into industrial complexes.
The authority introduced candidate sites at the Hwanggeum and Sepung industrial complexes for the development of move-in facilities, and briefed the Anhui delegation on foreign investment incentives including foreign investment zone designation and cash support.
"I hope this visit will be an opportunity to learn from Gwangyang Bay's experience in industrial complex development, high-tech industry growth and the harmonization of industry with the ecological environment — and that it will serve as an important turning point leading to tangible investment and trade outcomes for both organizations," Dai said.
Gwangyang Bay Free Economic Zone Authority chief Gu Chung-gon said the authority would "swiftly prepare the most suitable sites and incentives and provide active support" for visiting member companies, taking into account the industries they wish to enter in Korea, the land area required and the scale of investment.
