NH NongHyup Financial Holdings said Monday it held its "2026 Second-Half Management Strategy Meeting" on Friday, bringing together Chairman Lee Chan-woo, subsidiary CEOs and senior executives to focus on achieving second-half business targets and mapping out growth strategies for 2027.

The meeting featured the group's first-ever "business plan review," in which executives revisited the management plan set at the start of the year. Going beyond a simple earnings check, the session examined gaps between original targets and actual results, how the group responded to shifts in the market environment, and areas that fell short — along with their root causes — with the aim of incorporating those findings into second-half and 2027 strategies.

Chairman Lee discussed revenue structures, risk factors, and capital and liquidity utilization across business divisions with subsidiary CEOs. Specific action plans covered strengthening the bank's core earnings base, managing market volatility in the non-banking segment, improving profitability and financial soundness at insurance subsidiaries, and deploying surplus funds within the group.

The meeting also fleshed out the group's "One-Firm" direction — efficiently allocating capital at the group level beyond individual subsidiaries and deepening collaboration among affiliates in areas such as corporate finance and customer base expansion.

NongHyup Financial said it plans to use the meeting as a springboard to refine its management framework — a cycle of planning, execution, review and strategy refinement — and to strengthen a corporate culture in which the holding company and subsidiary CEOs jointly discuss and act on key management issues.

"Business plans must be constantly reviewed and revised in line with changes in the environment," Lee said. "We need to enhance the competitiveness of each subsidiary while at the same time connecting the group's capital, customers and business capabilities from a 'One-Firm' perspective to deliver tangible results."

Meanwhile, NongHyup Financial Holdings posted net profit for the period of 1.7 trillion won ($1.2 billion) in the first half of this year, a record high for any half-year period.
