Commuters hurried to work in cool weather Monday morning as the Kkumsaekim-pan (dream message board) on the outer wall of the Seoul Library in Jung-gu was dressed up with a message marking the 81st Liberation Day. The Seoul Metropolitan Government said it adorned the board with an image of the Taegukgi flying against a blue sky, paired with the inscription: "That day in 1945, when the Taegukgi felt coolest in the breeze — we carry the joy of liberation forward." The city said the display honors the sacrifice of independence patriots and invites citizens to reflect on the meaning of liberation.
