A cycle of giving between singer Im Young-woong and his fans shows no sign of slowing — when the singer donates, fans follow, and when fans give, the singer gives again. The latest turn in that cycle comes from Im's fan club "Yeongwoong Sidae The HERO Top Gangwon," which joined the giving streak to mark the 10th anniversary of his debut.

The fan club donated 5 million won ($3,520) to the Good Neighbors Gangwon Central Branch to support children who have suffered abuse. Members raised the funds voluntarily to celebrate Im's decade in the industry. The money will go toward programs supporting abuse survivors and child abuse prevention efforts in Gangwon Province, Good Neighbors said Monday.

The fan club has maintained a steady record of community giving. In 2023, it donated money and goods through the Good Neighbors Gangwon regional office to support vulnerable teenage girls, and has continued its charitable activities since.

"We came together to honor the spirit of giving and positive influence that Im Young-woong has shown over his 10 years since debut," the fan club said. "We hope this donation, made in celebration of his 10th anniversary, brings a small measure of hope and encouragement to children in our community who have suffered abuse. We will continue building a warm fandom culture alongside Im Young-woong."

The Good Neighbors Gangwon Central Branch runs professional welfare programs to help children facing abuse, poverty, and psychological or emotional hardship — as well as other marginalized community members — grow into healthy members of society. It operates a range of programs for abuse survivors and their families, alongside child abuse prevention initiatives.
